You have a baby registry, you have shopped for the perfect crib, researched the best car seat and studied up on what to expect. But have you truly prepared yourself for your baby’s birth?

If you haven’t hired a doula yet, here are a few things to consider:

Have you taken the time to work with someone who is experienced & knowledgable to help you plan out and set reasonable goals based on your individual needs and desires?

Are you confident that you are physically, emotionally and psychologically prepared?

As your due date approaches, will you feel empowered; ready to embrace the challenge rather than fearing it?

Jennifer took the time to teach my husband and I different techniques for pain management during the pregnancy and for labor. She also answered all of our questions and gathered information to further explain things. She was absolutely fabulous!

Jennifer was such a blessing to my family! Hiring her as my doula was one of the best decisions I have ever made. She was comforting, reassuring, and knowledgeable throughout the last weeks of my pregnancy, my birth, and postpartum. My labor was short and she made it as comfortable as possible, several suggestions she made I know made my labor shorter and more tolerable. She definitely has the experience and knowledge to help any woman have a great birth experience. In the end I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy with no complications. I will be forever grateful for Jennifer being there to guide and support me - she was fantastic!

Surpassed my expectations! Will recommend to expecting friends.

It was all so easy & very simple, and a lot of that is thanks to you. I was so scared of how painful the contractions were going to be or how bad the needle in my spine was going to be. But once those times came and the contractions started happening, all the things you and I had gone over helped me get through it so painlessly. I didn’t have my mind focused on the contractions, I had my mind focused on breathing and that’s it, along with having my favorite essential oils and you massaging my back, hands and feet, that kept my mind right where it needed to be. I was able to do it so calmly on my own, which allowed Mami to get those amazing photos that will help me remember the whole experience. You really went above and beyond with all your hands-on help and information during our sessions and even now.

I hired Jennifer as my doula and it was the best choice I could have made. I am a first time mom and really wanted to have an all natural birth. Jennifer helped me achieve this goal and I could not have done it without her help. She met with me and my husband on multiple occasions prior to the birth to help prepare us for the big day. She was always available via text, email, or phone to answer any questions I had. During the actual birth, she kept me focused the entire time and I believe made my delivery easier with her hip opening tricks! If you’re looking for a doula who is competent, relaxed, and attentive, Jennifer is the right choice for you.

Having a doula for the birth of our first baby was a priority for my husband and I. Jennifer was absolutely essential during the delivery of our daughter to answer any questions and her suggestions were extremely valuable. When I researched around for doulas, Jennifer was the only one that offered visiting several times before actual birth, most doulas just met once before and then at the birth. She was also the only one who fit in my budget. During the visits she taught us all sorts of techniques and birthing positions and very valuable information. It’s important for Mom and Dad to feel comfortable with this 3rd person in the room during such a vulnerable time, and because of all her visits and our time spent together- we did feel very comfortable with her. We developed a nice friendship! I followed all of her suggestions and had my dream labor/delivery. It really couldn’t have gone any smoother, and I know that only happened with Jennifer’s support. Once I went into labor, she was immediately available and calming during early and active labor. She even came the night before my daughter was born because we thought it was the day! When the contractions died off, just to be safe, she spent the night at my house. The next day she arrived at the hospital shortly after I did and her presence was reassuring and empowering to both me and my husband. She really enabled my husband to be an active labor partner and reminded him of his “cues” and what she had taught him during our prenatal visits. I knew she had plenty of experience and had attended many births as her recommendations and attitude was always really helpful. Jennifer was very engaged in my delivery without being imposing or in the way. I’m convinced that I would not have been strong enough, educated enough or empowered enough to deliver naturally without Jennifer’s guidance. At one point I asked for an epidural (which I truly didn’t want) the pains were just so unbearable. Jennifer coached me through my breathing and helped me focus on my body and what it was doing. Within 20 minutes my baby girl was born! She stayed with me for about 2 hours after delivery to make sure I was OK and that we had started our breastfeeding relationship. She came to my home to see me again a week after I delivered to touch base and make sure the 3 of us were doing well. Seeing her again after delivery was great- she had the same positive, soothing effect she did during labor. I will forever be grateful to Jennifer for being there during one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I will ABSOLUTELY use her as a doula again if I’m blessed with more children. I can’t recommend her highly enough. Thank you again Jennifer!
